The Tiki Bar

As the story goes the original, Quinn’s, a waterfront establishment at Papeete, Tahiti, was founded by Robert Quinn of San Francisco in 1933.

 

Herb Savage, Quinn’s on the Beach architect, traveled to the fabled island and brought back his version of a tropical island oasis where guests could enjoy  great drinks and great food.  With this island influence he created one of the most popular gathering spots on Marco Island.

 

In the spring of 2005  after many trips to Quinn’s, the Tiki Bar became reality in the Giudicessi’s backyard.  Efforts were made to re-create this tropical paradise in Des Moines.  The original colors and design were as close as could be given the lack of a coast line.  

 

The idea of a place where friends could gather for great drinks and great food was the driving force in creating G's Tiki Bar, that and a few loose screws in one of the owner’s head.

 

While you can’t always get to the beach for an evening sunset at Quinn’s you can always imagine a sunset over a cocktail at  G's Tiki Bar!
